Hey everybody, compliments of the season. Hope y’all had a wonderful Christmas? I think I did even if all I did was sleep and eat 😂, it was a wonderful day. So let’s get right into the business of today. The weather here in Nigeria is so dry, I’m currently in Abuja city, and I think its worse here, the air can literally dry out anything in seconds. As a natural we know how important it is that we protect our hair during dry seasons, my hair has been in cornrows for days now and just yesterday I decided to pamper it because I could feel the dryness lurking. My hair badly needed moisture and I knew deep conditioning was the key, I’ve never done this particular mixture before so I wasn’t sure of the outcome although I was a bit confident because it’s involves avocado.
Let’s quickly talk about the benefits of Avocado peer. Avocado is a fruit that’s rich in vitamins A,D,E and B6, it contains lots of proteins, magnesium, folic acid, amino acid, copper and iron. whoosh, so much goodness for your hair. The oils in avocado have the ability to penetrate your hair cuticle, hence deeply moisturizing your hair. Coconut oil also benefits, you can about the benefits of coconut oil here.
Ingredients to make masque :
– 3 or 2 medium sized Avocado pear ( I used these because my hair is quite full
– 2 table spoons of coconut oil
– 2 table spoons of water
How to make : Peel avocado back and blend until it’s very sooth. Add water and blend until the consistency is medium-thick, you don’t want it too thick so add a little more water if it’s too thick. Add the coconut oil and whip together and your masque is ready.
How to apply
I applied mine differently because of the thickness of my hair and I didn’t want to deal with knots and tangles. I applied the masque to my hair dry, massaging it completely into my hair. My current hair style was cornrows, so what I did was loosen each corn row, applied the masque and then twisted my hair. Plus I think this method makes it a lot easier when you want to wash it off.
So all you have to do is apply, massage and twist. The next step is to completely cover hair with a plastic cap or shower cap and leave for 25-30 minutes. I overslept with this masque on for about two hours 😭. Just imagine lol, I usually do one hour max but I did two hours because I like sleep.
I noticed my hair was really soft and light, my curls became more defined and most importantly my hair was deeply moisturized. I’m really happy with the results and I’m here wondering why I haven’t been doing this. I think I’m going to stick to this for a while until I restock my natural hair products.
I really couldn’t get a clear picture because the sun had gone down when I got up 😩 lol. No worries, I’ll post better pictures during the course of the week. I hope y’all enjoyed this post ? Have you tried this masque before? If yes how did it turn out? If no are you willing to give it a try 👇
