Hello beauties, My girl Marcelle of Marcellelilly did a similar post on her blog, and everyone seems to be sharing one lesson or two, so why not join the train. I know 2017 has been a hard yet amazing learning experience for me, so I’m going to share 5 very important lessons 2017 taught me. There will also be a give away at the end of this post, keep reading π
1. PRAY ABOUT EVERYTHING
No matter how insignificant a thing may seem, pray about it, and don’t be surprised when God gives you an answer ( don’t ignore the signs). Sometimes what you’re praying for my not come in the package you imagined, be discerning enough to know this is God speaking by learning how to hear from God. It starts by studying the Bible.
2. GROWTH WILL NOT FALL ON YOU
I remember at the beginning of this year, I really wanted a consistent fellowship life with God, I wanted to be grow spiritually, intellectually, etc. I felt really pumped after Sunday services to do God’s will and spend time with Him, then came Monday mornings, I’m suddenly not in the mood, or after day one, I’m tired. I did not realize this until my pastor preached on discipline. I honestly lacked discipline, loving God sometimes may not be enough without discipline. If you want to grow, you must make effort, you must be deliberate even when all the motivation and goose bumps from Sunday services has worn off, even when you get to that part of the book that’s just boring (talking to myself too). If growth was easy, everyone would do it, to grow you must be deliberate about your decisions.
3. CONSISTENCY IS NECESSARY FOR SUCCESS
It’s hard but I’ve learned and still learning how not to consider my feelings or the number of views I get on a blog post. If I gave up in my first year of blogging, I probably wouldn’t have been writing this post. Don’t despise your days of little beginnings, they could be the hardest but don’t let what you see, feel or hear right now determine your efforts, your breakthrough is near.
4. PROTECT YOUR PEACE OF MIND AT ALL COST
This is very necessary for your sanity, even if it means losing a few friends, blocking that number, unfollowing them on social media. Choose your battles wisely, not every time reply, sometimes ignore. For my own sanity, I’m learning how to be peaceful with all men, very difficult, but we can do this.
5. DON’T TAKE THINGS TOO SERIOUSLY
Sometimes I’m too analytical for my own good, I read meaning into the littlest of things, and most times its not what it seems. This was one of the hardest lessons for me because it came from people who loved me and I knew they couldn’t be lying. Sometimes even if it is what it seems, it may not deserve a reaction, sometimes, just laugh it away. I’m not saying condone insults in the name of jokes, I’m saying something’s are not too deep for your reaction. If you’re not sure, ask questions before you assume anythin. I need to remember this ALWAYS.
I hope these lessons were useful to you. Please leave a comment below, I’d love to hear your thoughts.
Now let’s get to the fun part;

This your hair is all ive been thinking about since yesterday πππ. I totally agree with number 5. I take things way too seriously. I’m just starting to learn not to take everything too personal, for my own mental and emotional well being.

Yaaay. A giveaway ππ Iβm not sure I qualify lol but I love giveaways because giving is always a good idea. Way to go girllll π
Number 2 and 3 are definitely relatable. Being Intentional and deliberate is very important. realized this quite late in the year but better late than never right? Lol. You have to be intentional because our God is so intentional nothing JUST happens when it comes to him. You have to be intentional about being intentional. Haha (see what I did there?)
Also consistency is very key. I also realized this late π especially with blogging and all. And you cannot let something as little as feelings lead you. Because we are led by the SPIRIT! Whoooop!! ππ
