Happy June bunnies β€.
I Can’t believe it’s June already, didn’t we just say “happy new year” five minutes ago? π
Life is happening really fast, and sometimes it gets really difficult to keep up with our loved ones, but if something matters to you, you’ll find a way to make it work.
So I’m going to share a few tips on how you can stay in touch with loved ones regardless of how busy life gets.
DISCLAIMER : I’m not writing as one who is an expert at this. I suck at staying in touch sometimes, but I’ll like to share based on observation and what has worked for me.
1. Use whatsapp /Create a WhatsApp group
Guys, I cannot over emphasize how this has helped me keep up with my relationships. Whatsapp is the real MVP, saving lives since 1999 π. I’m very terrible at calling, so this messaging app is the best for me. If you have a group of friends, a WhatsApp group would be ideal. Keep the group active by posting your pictures, share import news, jokes, memories etc. These would stimulate conversation because it’s important to keep the page active.
2. Schedule them into your time
Great relationships don’t just happen, they require work.
This is where you’ll need to be deliberate. If calling your friends once in a month works for you, then make sure you do it. Don’t go three to six months without contacting your loved one’s. If you do this ya’ll will grow apartment and your relationship will suffer.
Effort is key
Note: However let me state this clause, they’re some friendships God will separate you from, so be sensitive to the Holy Spirit. Also If you’re putting effort and the other party isn’t bothered, find out why first, don’t assume anything. If they’re no longer interested in the friendship then you’ll just have to move on. It could be that their season in your life has expired.
3. Tag each other to funny/fun/intellectual posts
This is a subtle way of letting them know you care about them and you remember them. It works!
4. Plan meet ups / attend events together
If y’all are in the same city, take advantage of this, meet up once in a while . If there’s an Owambe somewhere, carry your friends along.
Current definition of Owambe – A Nigerian party where people go to show off, eat jollof and dance shaku shaku π.
5. Pray for your friends
Pray for your friends guys, you never really know what they go through sometimes. You hardly ever forget those you pray for.
Hope this post was helpful. Kindly share with me in the comment box how you stay in touch with your friends and family.
Have an amazing week ahead.

Continually checking up on them sometimes weekly, praying for them, having long calls at least once a month and also making sure that I don’t allow important information about my life pass them.

I’m super terrible at keeping in touch too but I always ensure to pray for at least two friends daily and try to call them if I remember to. These points are amazing and I would try to do better.

I struggle with calls too, but when we eventually get to talk, we’ll talk for hours. We’ll do better π

I have trouble staying in contact with people. I’m a person where they need to text/call me because I’m really not much of a call/text first type of person. But I’m working on that. These are great tips that I will take into consideration. Right now the main reason why I really don’t have friends is because they moved away which cause us to just drift apart.

I do all of that too, because I’m extremely terrible at callingπ. But I’ve learned that if you really care about people, keeping in touch won’t be such a big problem. Even if its once in a week. β₯

No assumptions. Ask them what’s going on and how you really feel…
