Happy September guys ❤️. We thank Almighty God for bringing us this far, for keeping me and you, He’s indeed faithful.
One of my thrift finds. Got the top for #350, I got two other tops at the same price
So I was in Abuja throughout the month of August, and I knew that before traveled back, I’ll have to tick one thing off my list. Guess what? You got that right, Thrifting!
I visited the famous Nyanya market, where I usually thrift before I relocated to PortHarcourt. Anyway if you’re that person wondering how people get amazing thrift pieces, and you’re wondering how they do it, I’m sure these tips will be helpful.
Patience
Don’t go to thrift when you have some where to be in the next hour. Take your time, inspect your finds properly and don’t go to the market hungry. Patience is key, take your time to look for what you really want so you don’t have any regrets when you get home.

Get a third eye
I usually like to go with my sister because she has such a good eye, Lol if you know what I mean. On my last journey, I went with my friend Marcelle of Marcellelilly.wordpress.com. Lol did you know I almost let go of this babies of not for my friend? Go with someone who is fashionable, willing to help and has a good eye.

Negotiate
Most prices may be fixed but you can negotiate for a discount especially when you’re buying a number of things from a vendor. For example if a top is set at #500, you could negotiate three tops for #1200. You get?

Don’t show excitement
This has to be the hardest part, when you find a piece you really like, try all your best not to show excitement. These vendors can tell and when they see your reaction, they’ll most likely increases the price. So act chilled and swallow your excitement.
Don’t be ashamed
When you’re going to the market, do not go all dressed up in hills and makeup lol, wear something comfortable so you can move freely. Lol don’t look at anyone when you are busy trying to grab something cute because no one is looking at you. Be free, speak pidgin if you must and thrash any thoughts of shame because there’s nothing shameful about thrifting. This point takes me back to my second point, go with someone, its more fun and it’ll definitely be worth it.
I hope you guys found this post very helpful. What other thrifting tips do you know? Kindly let me know what y’all think in the comments. Thanks for reading.!
